WELCOME to the Huachuca Hiking Club non-member, public group site! The Huachuca Hiking Club, formed in 1973, is a local organization based in Sierra Vista, Arizona composed of people interested in exploring and conserving our natural wilderness heritage through hiking, backpacking, camping, and volunteering trail maintenance and trash clean-up. The club environment helps foster friendships and the exchange of ideas/information among those who share these common interests. This group site was formed to enhance member communication and to introduce the club to like-minded outdoor enthusiasts.
Club meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Cochise County Conference Center, 4001 E. Foothills Drive, Sierra Vista (Bldg on West/Left as you enter side of parking lot) in the small conference room. There will be a review of past month’s activities, details about upcoming hikes, and usually a program of interest to hikers followed by refreshments.
Club officers are elected in March with club membership payment due the same month. Huachuca Hiking Club membership dues are $4.00 per person, per year. Active club members are expected to serve as officers, hike leaders, and occasionally provide the program and refreshments at monthly meetings.
You can join the club at a monthly meeting or for additional information on membership. Once you are a club member, you will be approved to join this group site. For additional information on membership or upcoming hikes, contact Mike Simon, phone 520-234-7310, or email: MDSimonIV@hotmail.com.
